I'm from Alpine, Texas, just to the south of the Permian basin and oil field crews are coming back. Reeves county is mostly Oil and Gas, but all around that area Solar Energy is starting to come in, and there is always wind turbines further to the east in Pecos County.

James There is a huge deficit in rental properties which has prices through the roof. I am actually looking for rental properties right now as well, and land too. I would make sure you realize boom and bust scenarios with this area. I'm not saying its unpredictable, but just to be careful.

Hello Bigger Pockets, I have an Apartment manager question.

My girlfriend "Rani" is the apartment manager for a 20 unit apartment complex. One of her tenants has been diagnosed with Alzheimers, but the tenant (lets call her Mary) still attends dance class and understands she has some memory issues. One night Mary left her car running outside the apartment complex and the windshield wipers were on and it wasnt raining, and Mary was no where to be found until she came out of the darkness... The next day Rani (Apartment manager) called Mary's doctor and explained the need to possibly monitor the situation or what would be the best course of action. Keep in mind that Mary has no family except a son that wants nothing to do with her.  1 or 2 days later Adult Protective Services "APS" came into Mary's apartment woke her up around (6-7pm) and took her 2 hours away to a home so she can get checked out. No one notified Rani until it was too late.  APS gave Rani a letter stating they have the right to take the person because she is in danger. APS didnt take Mary's pet which was still in the apartment, It is now time to pay rent... how do we solve this?

Has anyone had a similar situation? Please advise.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to investing and am looking for any real estate investor clubs in the Big Bend area of Texas such as Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis. I haven't found one yet, but possibly I just haven't looked hard enough. Possibly there are some smaller group get togethers?
