Looking to purchase a fully occupied duplex in Oakland with protected tenants. If both tenants are "protected" can you still do an Owner Move-in?

@Ryan Deeter I was perusing BP on Columbus investing and saw this deal you did. How's it working out? I am looking to invest in the Columbus area this year and would love to hear about your up-and-downs with this one.

@Brandon Sturgill Thanks for the comment! I guess I was asking whether or not taxes in the Columbus area (Franklin County) were just too high in general to consider for buy-and-hold? For example, when looking at a macro scale it looks like Birmingham and Columbus have somewhat similar price-to-rent ratios, but Birmingham has much lower taxes. Should I or anyone avoid investing in area based on taxes?

Based on what I see on invest hypothetical (super cool and informative map by the way) it would seem to me you think Columbus has some great buy-and-hold potential. I would tend to agree - Columbus is the capital of the 7th most populous state in the country, is growing naturally (net positive migration), has a relatively diverse economy with many universities, and on average has a fairly low price-to-rent. The biggest turn-off I’ve noticed so far has been the taxes.

I would love to chat further on this and get your thoughts on a few of the neighborhoods directly outside of downtown. What is the best medium to contact you?

Hi everyone - new to BP here. I have researching cities for buy-and-hold in Ohio. What are thoughts on Columbus and their high taxes for a buy-and-hold strategy?  Should I shy away given an average tax rate of +/-2%?
