Glad this worked out for you. Do you mind telling us what neighborhood this property is located in?

Thanks

@Jennifer Rysdam that looks really nice. Not sure it will work on my current project, I will definitely keep your solution in mind for a rental situation. Thanks for the tip!

@Jeff Berg someone has replaced a few of the original flat doors with the six panel style. I’m going to replace the rest of the flat doors to achieve a more consistent look throughout the home.

@Brian Pulaski That is the situation I’m in. Going to replace the old flat doors with new six panel ones. I think they really dress up the inside of the house.

@Paul Skikne Thanks for responding Paul. I’m trying to save some money so I think I will just change out the doors. I’m going to start off with a couple of closet doors. If it isn’t to difficult I will do the same with the rest of the doors in the house.

@James Roberts Thanks James. My question is base on a flip I am doing, so it is going to involve more than one or two doors. My budget is a little tight so I’m looking for ways to reduce cost.

Question: if the door jams are in good shape, would you replace just the interior doors, or buy a pre-hung door and change out the entire fixture? TIA for your answers.

@Jeff Bridges i would contact a structural engineer and see what he are she thinks. You could also call a few foundation repair companies to see if the would look at your issue.

Pls let us know what you find out.

@Frank Leone The difference between receiving a gift and borrowing money from a friend is simple. There is no expectation that you repay the gift. However, if you borrow money from a friend (which is what your original post was asking about) there is an expectation that you will have to repay the debt. This could affect your ability to repay your mortgage loan so the lender wants to know about these kind of debts. It also will impact your debt to income ratio which is a matrix that underwriters use to qualify your loan. Not disclosing a debt on your application is a crime. Even if the money is “seasoned”. If the money is a gift then the person that gave it to to you can sign a statement to that effect and the lender more than likely would allow you to use those funds towards your down payment.
