Thanks for your response, should I really be worried about finding a good market for my first investment?  

Hi, I am from San Antonio, Texas.  My goal is to become an investor and build a rental portfolio so I can spend more time with my son.  I am a Full time Train Conductor and I am also in the Navy Reserves.  I love to play sports like Sand Volleyball, flag-football and kickball.  My all time favorite thing to do is hangout with my 6 year old son.  

What is the best way to figure out the Market around you? 

Good afternoon.  I’m a new member to the Bigger Pockets website.  Started listening to the Podcast about 2 weeks ago.  I’m on Episode 22.  I’ve also read, Investing In Realestate with No (and Low) Money Down by Brandon Turner.  That is the gist of my knowledge when it comes to real estate.

I am going to be an investor, so my goal is to meet with like minded individuals that are successful and know the market here in San Antonio.

I am a full time Train Conductor for Union Pacific Railroad and I am also in the Navy Reserves. I bought my first house 2 years ago utilizing the VA loan. Still navigating this app to figure out what it offers, but if you'd like to chat or have suggestions for me HMU.
