Hi All,
My name is John and I am located in Southern CA, and most of my interest resides in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
I am pretty green when it comes to real estate investment, in my opinion. For the three years following my move out to California, I worked in the property management industry. A major share of our management properties were down in South LA or up in the San Fernando Valley (yes, the nasty bits of town!). Recently I have transitioned into providing assistance for a small group of developers who are particularly interested in the Arts District of Los Angeles. I am mostly helping them by way of providing financial analysis and I can definitely make a mean spreadsheet; perhaps not that surprising considering that my college studies were in engineering!
That said, I am always looking to learn more. I am currently working on getting my salesperson's license, as well as my LEED Green Associate's credentials. One of the things I spent a lot of time studying and focusing on in my undergraduate studies was sustainability and sustainable development, so I would be ecstatic if I found someone to work which would allow me to incorporate sustainable concepts into finished product.
I live in Ventua County (Thousand Oaks) but regularly make the trek into LA for business. If you have a deal which you think I may bring a positive benefit to, I ask that you please get in touch with me and we can talk about it over lunch!
One day I am looking to start investing - likely in single families or possibly x-plexes, likely with me as an on-site landlord, but for now my main focus is on learning as much as possile as quickly as possible. Thanks to Josh and Brandon for putting out the podcast, which has, without a doubt, been the one thing that actually got me here.
Cheers, guys, and all other BP members!
John
