I agree with Rafael as to feeling your pain!  Property taxes in NJ are no question a challenge.  I'm still new, but from what I have been seeing/reading, buying at the right price is extremely important.  I'm looking to house hack for my first deal and my strategy is to have the absolute minimum down payment right now and I MUST buy for the my right price.  Hope that gives you some insight.

My name is John and I am an aspiring real estate investor from Bergen County, NJ.  I have been reading and educating myself about real estate and BP has been a GREAT resource.  Thank you to all who have posted in the forums!

I've decided to enter REI via house hacking. I'm actively looking for multi families that are in livable shape but could use some renovation in the Bergen County area. My primary resource for finding listings is through a friend that is a real estate agent and I plan on attending some meet up groups.
