Both of these ideas are great for getting into the industry! My family and I own both of these but have had more success with multi-unit buildings. A STR is easier to find, a great money maker and is awesome to have as an investment property but also as a vacation home when you want it. In my opinion, the best way to go here is the duplex/triplex because while they are harder to come by, they are cash cows in a good structured deal!

I am a new commercial real estate broker as of this year. I have previous experience in commercial real estate, but this is my first year as a broker and I love it. I focus on retail sales & leasing as well as multifamily sales and development. I try to be the first in the office and the last out each and every day, but I need advice on where I should be spending most of my time. I make at least 200 cold calls a week and consistently drive each market calling on signs attempting to generate leads. I'd love to hear what other people did to get the ball rolling and where how things unfolded for them. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!
