@Tina S. I have had rental townhouses in Minnesota that had the electrical box mounted outside.

@Samuel J Claeson in your lease do you handle all snow shoveling, grass cutting, etc..? If so you should include something that says how long after a storm, event, etc.. the driveway will be cleared. You need good insurance anyhow but I'd be especially sure I had good insurance if I could be held liable from someone slipping on the ice. If they were responsible for snow/ice removal they could likely still sue you but at least you might be a little more at ease. So winter has arrived in Minnesota! Wonderful.

Why are so many people being so negative on this post. Cassandra didn't ask for anyone's opinion as to whether or not you thought she could do this, or even if you thought it was a good idea. She only asked if anyone had any advice about STR in the New Orleans area. If you don't have advice in the particular thing she asked about, how about just letting it go? Had she asked "What do you think about me getting started investing in STR's ?" maybe your comments would be appreciated. We all know you guys are smart about your investing but why belittle someone else because her ideas don't fit your mold? She seems to know pretty well what she is doing already, and as she said she is accumulating the profits from this to purchase more properties.

@Cassandra Staffieri I think what you have accomplished already is amazing and I like the way you're attempting to grow. Can I ask you, or anyone else reading this, who within City Government do you contact to find out the regulations for STR?

@Marisa Rowe Did you provide all/some of the labor or does that $5100 include all the labor as well?

@Tom R. Watching the local news last night, with the lotto up just under $1B, someone said "Your odds of winning the big one were about as good as being attacked by a shark in Iowa". And that isn't likely to happen.

@Bradley Eischens Welcome aboard. Starting young, like you are, is smart. I wish you the best. I'd bet you'll be able to find some really good deals across the bridge over in Superior WI.

Ron S and Andy M thank you for your comments. I understand what you are saying. A nationwide guru teaching this approach across the country would have everyone believe that there is no problem with it. For him maybe there isn't, but then again he is most likely making his fortune selling coaching and courses.

I'm just curious, has anyone here ever purchased a property Subject To where the loan has been called due as a result?
