Hello, all! New BiggerPockets poster here. I’m a young professional in currently residing in Salt Lake City. I have a few years of experience in the field of landscape architecture and urban planning, but I’m now looking to relocate to the Chicago area. While I enjoy my design job, I’m seriously considering a career in property management as I feel it would be a better fit for me professionally.

As I’ve researched online, it appears that both Real Estate Broker and Community Association Manager licenses are recommended for entry-level property management positions in the state of Illinois. Does this sounds correct and are there any other state/city requirements that I should be aware of before making this career change? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hope to meet some of you one day. Thanks in advance!
