@Troy Gandee Makes sense. Can you cash flow w 20% down?

@Troy Gandee I’ve been to Edisto and remember how cheap it was a few years ago. But I poked around recently and I thought I had missed the bus?

Can anyone suggest beach markets in SC and/or GA that allow STRs and cash flow with 20% down? (other than Myrtle Beach) Thanks!!

Hi all. We're considering St. Augustine for our first STR investment. We're looking at downtown homes with pools or homes near the beach. The market seems to have a lot going for it with the beach, the lively downtown, the historical appeal and the night of lights draw during the winter months. I know there are some STR regulations, but it seems there are plenty of parts of town where it can be done. Any general thoughts on investing in this market and cash flowing with 20% down? We're open to other markets, as well, but really like St. Aug. Thanks so much for your insight!

Thank you both for your thoughts. I do love the OBX…And just to clarify the question, we’re not deciding between the OBX and St. Aug specifically. We’re open to any beach town in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida down to St. Aug. Thanks!

We're getting close to being ready to invest in our first vacation rental. We're interested in a beach house somewhere between the Outer Banks and St. Augustine. All the beaches in that range are 7 hours or less of a drive for us. We want to be able to cash flow and use it a couple of times a year. We love Folly Beach and Tybee Island, but know the short-term rental rules are very strict now...What markets do you like in that geographical range? Thanks so much!
