Thanks for the reply.  I should have clarified that I live in Colorado. Is this legal nationwide or variess from state to state?

I've been renting my house for 13 years. I requested a one year lease renewal. My realty company offered me a renewal with a rent increase in addition to a security deposit increase.  My question is, is it legal to increase the security deposit? I've never experienced this before
