Tesla Roof??? We are in the process of a remodel in San Ramon, CA and new roof and are considering a Tesla Roof. I have never seen one but would like to. I’m hoping there is neighbor near by who has one and wouldn’t mind me driving by to see what it looks like in person. I’d also like any feedback about them such as how you like it. What are the pros and cons other than the increased price? Thanks everyone.

@Michael Plaks

Does it step up once to the spouse and then again to the child?

Example:

Parents buy house for $100,000

Father dies and house is stepped up to fair market value of $300,000 for Mom.

When Mom dies the fair market value of the house is $500,000. does the house step up again to $500,000 for the children?

One of my condo units has a bedroom that shares an adjoining wall with a bathroom in another unit(different owner). The toilet leaked and caused water damage to the flooring of my unit in the bedroom. The insurance company of the other unit is taking responsibility and telling me to get the floor fixed and send them the bill. It is only about 50 square feet of flooring that needs replacing but the laminate flooring is no longer available and I can’t seem to match it. My question is, is the insurance company now responsible to pay for the the flooring in the whole room to be replaced so that it will match now that there is no way to simply replace the 50 square feet of damage flooring with matching laminate?

@Mary Griffin

Hi Mary,

I’m also a real estate investor in the Bay Area. I have a few properties and am interested in expanding into multi-unit properties and possibly other geographical locations as well. I’m for sure interested in connecting to share best practices, info, advice, and possibly working together in the future.
