I have to take a rain-check until mid-July or August.  Busy with kids just about everyday until then.  I'll touch base later.

I've owned my duplex since January 2015.  So I'm not a veteran by any means, but like anything, you learn as you grow...  Just make sure and screen your tenants.  Also, use Bisman and Craigslist.  Even being in Bismarck, I think the majority of my tenants are found through craigslist.

I do plan on getting into more multi-family properties, I just don't have the funds to expand into more quite yet.  My goal is to provide my own retirement funds through RE investments, and then any extra retirement funds (or social security, if there is such a thing in 30 years) from other employment would just be icing on the cake.

@Derek Dame I currently have an over/under duplex in Bismarck. SFH or MF is what I'm interested in. I agree, there are a lot of apartments going up and have gone up in recent past. I think they are only hurting themselves. I believe there's still a market for people who don't want a neighbor above, below, left, right, and across the hall from them. Lots a people want to have that yard to use. Those are my thoughts anyways. I haven't had any harder of a time filling my units even as the oil slowed down out west. Granted I haven't raised rent at all, but I don't think I need to anyways.

Hey Derek,

I'm not aware of any REA that are in Bismarck.  I would be interested if someone were to start one up though...  Lots of good info on BP here.  I would suggest listening to some of the podcasts on BP, I learned so much just listening to those.
