Post: Affects of Commercial Revitalizations

Hi All,

I am curious about the affects that a commercial revitalization has on the surrounding housing market values.  Has anyone been involved with a residential investment in the surrounding "trade area" of a commercial revitalization?  What were the affects on the housing values, if any?

Thank you,

Joel H.

Thanks for the ideas, Philip.

@Steve B.- I was really just looking for reliable/updated rental prices for specific areas within a city.

I stumbled across a website called hotpads.com which allows you to specify the property type & location & spits out all the available rental properties with their listed asking price per month.  What's nice is you can view it by map, so you can really get a good idea of the "going rate" for the specific property & exact neighborhood you're researching.  Makes it really easy to determine whether a deal has potential for turn-key positive cash-flow.  Just thought I'd share- check it out.

Thanks,

Joel

Hi,

I am looking for a reliable website/resource for rental statistics.  I am conducting research in a few markets to purchase a buy & hold single-family home & need a reliable source for rental data.  I'm finding many sites with outdated data & a real lack of statistical analysis.  Not that I am against doing this on my own, but wanted to see if there was already something out there.  Any references are greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Joel
