We're definitely weary of the higher expenses, but in San Diego we're always near 4 bucks for a gallon of gas and so many people are being priced out of the state.

A myriad of reasons. Healthcare. We have covered California here but it seems like VT has a well established healthcare system. We also know our money will go further in Vt. In CA you can't get anything for under 500K. Burlington was specifically chosen based on the walkability to coffee shops, etc. and It's close to medical care. And coming from a city of 3 million +, a higher populated town would be nice. We're real estate agents here, so we'd like to get our licenses there as well. Also, ice cream.

My wife and I will be moving to Burlington from San Diego in May. We'd love to buy a 2-3 unit property with retail (we would open a store). Are we in over our heads? Single family sounds safer, but would love the extra income.
