I’m finally able to provide closure on this. The city was only able to schedule their inspection seven months after the tenants moved in. Their findings were a lack of handrails on the basement stairs and the also on the concrete stairs outside. I was happy with that outcome. Thanks again to everyone for your advice!

I’m having my house in Minneapolis inspected for conversion to a rental and compliance with the Housing Maintenance Code. Does anyone know if there are specific things the inspector will tend to focus on? When I’ve had inspections out to close permits they’ve always been sticklers for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Are there any other similar areas of focus for this inspection? Thanks.

I used ProTitleUsa today. Would recommend. Relatively inexpensive. Results within 4hrs for about $30 extra.
