Hey what's happening everyone! My name is Joey Ikeguchi currently living in Pompano Beach, FL, originally from Panama City, FL, and I lived in Southern California (Newport Beach) for about 7 years (where I also met my wonderful fiancé Anissa) which I hope to make it back to someday.
Currently I am a web designer working out of my house, which is nice, but I happened into this business by chance. Unfortunately the money is little and the work is not something I look forward to everyday. I have been looking for multiple opportunities to step away from this gig and every time I find something I keep getting drawn back to Real Estate. I think overall I am intimidated by Real Estate, not exactly sure why, and that is why my excuses have gotten in the way of me making my first steps into executing a career in Real Estate investing. I think I was actually looking through this site a year ago. Very Disappointing. I'm happy to announce that I no longer am going to hold myself back but continue to push myself forward. I want to keep expanding my comfort zone until I completely step out of it and find out what my true potential is.
I have no personal experience with Real Estate or Real Estate Investing. The knowledge I do have is from two years of community college courses, online videos, and books from other Real Estate Investors I have come across. I haven't really done anything from start to finish, so the knowledge I do have of Real Estate is kind of all over the place. I am dedicating myself to this process of starting from square one, taking it a step at a time, and learning in a much more organized manner. I'm glad that Bigger Pockets has all that available for me, and also that there are experienced and educated investors here to help me grow. I'm looking forward to learning everything I possibly can so that I can truly call myself a SUCCESSFUL REAL ESTATE INVESTOR. I also want to be able to take everything I learn and be able to teach others so that they have the necessary tools to also become a success, whether it be in life or Real Estate.
My goals of becoming a successful RE investor are to do something I enjoy and get paid for it, provide financial stability for my family, create a retirement income, start non-profit organizations, but ultimately be happy, because life can get stale and monotonous when you do the same thing everyday, especially when you don't enjoy it. I would say my first goal in route to all of those great things, however, would be to get my first deal underneath my belt!
Looking forward to coming back to this introduction to post my first RE deal!
Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to read through my intro and for any help I am given in my journey.
God Bless!
Joey Ikeguchi
