Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!  I look forward to continuing to learn from everyone.

@Account Closed, I've been thinking the same thing about San Antonio.  Please include me on your list.  I've sent you my contact info in a private message.

Hey everyone, just figured I'd introduce myself before asking questions.  I'm an engineer in the Austin area but have been fascinated by real estate ever since I purchased my home 2 years ago.  I've been lurking and educating myself by reading the forums, listening to the podcast, reading the UBG, etc.  My primary motivator is diversifying my investment portfolio and helping speed up my financial independence.  I love the idea of someone else paying your mortgage and increasing your net worth while providing additional income!  I'd love to get a hold of a duplex or quad to buy and hold so I can test the waters with landlording.  The part I'm struggling with most is finding properties where the numbers work, so that's what I'll be trying to figure out next.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all the great info!
