I'm also like you a newbie that works full time (as a civil engineer in Lenexa) and am looking for outside the job passive income. My biggest suggestion that has helped me in the early stages is obviously reading as much as possible but that can be difficult as I have a 2 year old girl. So one thing I've done to make up for that time is listening to the podcast while I'm working. You don't necessarily pick up everything that way but you will pick up a lot of things.

I am a full time civil engineer in the Kansas City metro area and trying to become a real estate investor. I would like to have buy and hold rentals for a passive income. I am wondering on where to start? Create/ start an LLC even though I am only looking for a few rentals ( less than 5) to began my career in this field? What price range is a good starting point I don't want to start to low and be trapped for maintenance repairs and such but don't want to overwhelm myself with debt to begin?

Kyle I am a civil engineer working for Schlagel & Associates based out of Lenexa KS. We specialize in real estate/commercial developments. I believe you are in the right price range I would have to do more research on the land and right of way and if there are easements or anything to consider. However has your relative thought of repolting it for lots or develop themselves at all. If so we would be more than willing to work with you or a developer on getting the proposed development layout and required process figured out.
