Hi Alexander, nice to hear you would like to invest in France. Why did you move to France? For the moment I only own a single family house in Britanny but I am planning to buy a multi-family this coming year. I have been reading a lot about real estate and the specific characteristics of the French market especially about new laws that were introduced this year. Do you speak or can read French? I can recommend you a fantastic magazine "Capital Votre Argent" that released a special edition on "Investir dean l'immobilier" this summer 2019. I have prepared a summary that I can share with you. Here's my WhatApp number if you want to exchange further: (+852 540 25 815)...I live in HK. Would be a pleasure to discuss further! Cheers.

Hi Syed,

Well, that's my case a newbie with no experience in RE.  I'll better go after buying existent properties and focus on finding a deal. Thank you for your sharing!

Hi Nick, Tyler, thank you for your posts. I would say this is a B neighborhood with single-family houses around. Will explore the townhome idea but as Tyler said, new construction can be very expensive.

Hi Taylor, thank you for your post. You're absolutely right, I am investing remotely. The only difference is that my husband is French and we have family over there. Our first property investment is in France and we know the area (South Brittany - West France)...so if we go back to FR we can manage the properties ourselves.

Dear All,

I have seen a property which is basically a piece of land with an old warehouse/storage on it. It belongs to an old lady who might be interested in selling it. The warehouse looks easy to demolish and the land could be used to build a triplex or quadruplex. I am really new in real estate but when I saw this property this idea came to my mind. Is building a property a good idea or do you guys prefer to buy existent property? Any other ideas of what can be done with this type of property? Thank you.

Dear all,

I am a newbie in real estate and would appreciate your advice. Here’s my situation: I bought a single-family house in France 3 years ago and the current balance of my mortgage is 120K Euros (16 years mortgage). I am about to receive a bonus of 10K Euros and was thinking about using this money to reduce the balance (no penalties around this). However, I think it might be better to renegotiate my loan from 16 to 30 years (this would help me to improve my monthly cash flow) and use the 10K Euros to invest in another property. What do you guys think is the best option? Thank you so much.

Dear All,

I know most real estate investors in the forum invest in USA. By any chance, anyone investing in France? Thank you.
