@Shane Colar Relationship with bankers is also important. Working at Comerica, a commercial bank, all the bankers had groups and meetups with different clients to help build relationships

@Shane Colar I used to work for Comerica and they’re big thing is HELOCs. Being in Texas you also have access to credit unions. Do some research and find out who has the best rates for what you’ll need them for and go with them.

@Shane Colar what is it that you're doing? LLC is most likely your best bet. Same with a bank account. What are you looking for in a bank? What area are you based out of?

@Kimberly M. Get her out of there. Fix whatever she damaged, put some new paint on the walls and charge the next tenant a little more.

I think the real discussion begins when she can’t figure it out. Then I would ask myself if morally I can legally force this person out, and how much am I willing to accommodate for the person. It says she’s relying on friends and family, so if she can figure it out, she can figure it out. I don’t think because you’ve rented for 30 years gives you the same right to live there as the owner. On the other hand, if this lady is about to be on the curb, I’m asking the church or some social workers what kind of options this woman has, if she doesn’t have the ability to find them for herself. No matter what though, I’m not going to own property and my daughter needs a place to stay and I tell her she has to figure something else out because this tenant has been here 30 years.
