Is there a limit to the number of VA loans one can obtain?

I currently have a two family with a VA loan and I know I can get another loan but I have to live in it for a year. That being said can I purchase a 3rd, 4th, and 5th property every year using VA so long as I househack it? Thanks

David is right about the inspections...if the tenant breaks something like a window it’s on you to replace it. So in a way it can be a pain.

You just have to make note of everything your tenant does should they break something.

The biggest pro to section 8 is leverage. If your tenant is a jerk then you just complain to the housing authority. After so many complaints they’ll get kicked off of the program, no one wants to get kicked off their program so the housing authority will help you in keeping the tenant in check.

@Patrick Coffey

Pat, I don’t own section 8 in Mass however I do get applications for vouchers that are offering less than my rent price so they don’t work out.

I’ve owned section 8 in Rhode Island before and there is a process to get the housing authority to up their voucher. That said there must be one for Massachusetts. I would just call the housing authority and inquire about it. They just made me provide them with a justification memo for the increased rent. Good luck
