More than anything...congrats on being able to cut out that unnecessary spending as that's a win in itself! And congrats on your first rental!

I would say hold off on the car and if you want to build credit open a credit card and put 2-3 small monthly services like netflix, etc on it and pay it in full each month.

Buy a used car for 2-3K and be done with thinking about a car.  What you drive doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things and that capital you'd be spending monthly on your car can be used for much better things.

My name is Jeremy Dixon.  This is my first post here so a little about me...

I have been extremely interested in real estate since 13 when I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and have never lose my passion for it since then.  Currently I lease option and wholesale properties mostly in Chicago but have done some virtual wholesaling as well.  

I am posting here also to see if anyone could point me in the right direction for some REI meetups in Chicago that I can attend?
