Ah ok, I just realized my person just does AirBNB stuff for vacation rentals so I don't think it'll work.

@Greg Mcswain I have someone here who manages vacation rentals. They just need to know the area it’s in and details of the property so I can connect you. Feel free to DM me if you’d like!

Veteran SEO consultant here, 11 years and counting.

I like what Nicholas said about creating content consistently. We still see this being the biggest single onsite thing marketers can do to grow their presence in search.

The single biggest thing you can do for SEO in general is like Bruce suggested, build links back to your site to increase the authority. Ideally, these links will be from legitimate sources relevant to your target keywords, and placed in ways that are natural for blogs and sites to link. Does that make sense?

You can also hire a VA to submit your site to a large quantity of local search directories so your local business information is corroborated around the web. I recommend setting up moz.com/local to get more local performance.

I hope this helps and let me know if there's something specific you could use more help with.

While I don't really listen to any SEO podcasts now days (there's a lot of noise out there so be careful who you invest your time/trust in) I do watch the weekly show with the mavens of SEO, the Moz Whiteboard Friday: https://moz.com/blog/category/whiteboard-friday

I've been in SEO for over 11 years so feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions.

Hey Daniel!

11+ years in SEO and Internet marketing in general (but specialty in SEO).  I'd love to chime in here and see if I can help you out some. I'm going to touch on some things that have already been said but I'm going to give you my best recommendations to help you perform better in search:

  1. I've always liked the results from the strategy of getting started on a new SEO project with an AdWords campaign first. You should cast a wide net in terms of the number of keywords you're targeting on an AdWords campaign, set their match types to Exact with a strong list of negative keywords. Over the next few months open up your targeting to Phrase and eventually Broad in order to get more clicks for the keywords that are showing promise (High CTR then Conversion). I would recommend no less than $1k/mo for the first 3 months to get some good leads, but most importantly, data. You want to know not only which keywords are getting searched, but which keywords drive good leads for you.
  2. Then take those target keywords and in order to perform well in organic search you'll need to start building some content around your target keywords. The best way to do this is with site pages first and then blog articles second. I build site pages where it makes sense to (Such as for service description or specifics) and then blog articles for more niche and targeted keywords. The more information and helpful advice in the blog articles usually the better they'll perform later.
  3. The most effective part of any good SEO campaign is usually link development. This can happen various different ways and one I recommend is the modern PR methodology. This involves finding and reaching out to existing blogs and publications to provide interesting information they can use to publish on their sites. This is commonly referred to as Guest Blogging. It can take time and be difficult to do if you're not a writer, so I recommend hiring a writer or someone you know that can do this part-time. I recommend frequency on prospecting for sites to publish your content and look for relevant places to post.
  4. Over time the compounding of content on your site and your link development efforts will drive up your leads which come from your site for free (or your cost to build content/links) as well as your AdWords costs will go down due to Google's QualityScore. Ultimately, the better your site performs organically, usually the cheaper your AdWords Cost Per Click (CPC) as well. This takes time and I know you've been around a while so likely it'll be easier to see faster results for your business.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more specific questions. I'm glad to help. Thanks!
