Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum and am excited to get involved! I have been investing in real estate for almost 3 years. Currently, my husband and I own and manage a single family home in the KC area, a single family home and a duplex in my hometown of Emporia, KS. My husband is a Realtor in Johnson County, KS, my in-laws have an investment business that rehabs homes and my dad is a builder on the east coast so I suppose working in real estate has always been on my list! My investing/property management business is in addition to a wonderful day job in tech sales. I invest in real estate for the long term, perhaps one day it will be my full-time job or maybe I'll decide it will be just a retirement vehicle. For now, I enjoy the analysis of it all and love having something to show for my hard work. I'm currently studying up on larger multi-family properties for my next purchase.

My goals on BP are to learn more about specific markets and types of opportunities as well as meet other folks that are learning along the way. I took some real estate analysis courses during my MBA and am excited to have found a strong forum to get answers to specific questions and discuss scenarios. In particular, I look forward to connecting with other folks that invest in small college towns or are established in another career and working at real estate on the side.
