Post: Resources for Commercial Property/boutique hotel

@Greg Dickerson

Hello Greg,

I actually have another question for you.

How does someone go about getting a Commercial Loan on property with a structure - in this case, an event center - and then build a residential structure (home) on the same property?

Is this 2 different loans?

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hello....I need some help/resources for bidding on a boutique hotel and getting it up and running again.

Specifically, I need info on financing if I’m an individual looking to do this. I have zero experience in bidding, rehabbing the property, etc. No, I’m not crazy, just willing to go out on a limb. Thanks in advance.

@Rob Gillespie

Hi Rob,

I'm a newbie to REI and BiggerPockets. I made the mistake a few months ago of ‘falling for' one of the expert programs that supposedly teaches you everything you need to know about REI. I feel stupid now after discovering BiggerPockets, but what's done is done.

To get to my point, I’m lost. I feel so overwhelmed by the ridiculous amount of information out there that I don’t know where to start. I’ve been reading posts on the B.P. forums, signing up for webinars, and reading a few books here and there.

Here’s the problem....What next?! Should I be actually looking for deals or simply practicing the analyzing of them? Am I supposed to have financing in place FIRST, or can I find a deal and then figure out financing?

Sorry for all of the remedial questions!

And thank you.

How does the fact that an owner is selling mineral rights with a property play into the valuation/appraisal?

I’m trying to determine how the owner of a property I’m interested in is valuing the 50% mineral rights he is selling.

Thank you, Joe. I hadn’t thought of an option.

I need some advice, please.

I'm new to REI, so I'm having some difficulty configuring a deal. This would be a transaction for myself (and my husband). Just trying to figure out a way that we can actually do it!

We want to relocate to another area and have found a 6-acre piece of property listed for $130K.

We have no liquid money to put down (but could possibly take a very small loan). We would like to put a contract on the property, put our current residence on the market and then relocate to a temporary home in the area where the vacant property is located while we build (perhaps a house hack).

Is there a way to put a contract on the land and make it contingent on the sale of our present home?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any knowledge of the Chris Goff conference? Do you recommend this for someone who is new to this industry? Waivering on whether or not it’s worth my money to attend the 2-day conference.
