@David Walbolt Thank you for posting! That is great information to have and awesome to hear that you were able to find a place with some of those big ticket items in good condition!

@Jeff Schemmel thank you so much for all of this information, these are exactly the sorts of details I was looking for! You've give me some great things to dive into 👍

@Brittney Lundeen I've already become enamored with the trail system- best of any US city I've experienced so far! I am currently speaking with a lender who has been incredibly helpful thus far but I am always eager to have a phone call with others who can offer different perspectives (especially if they are coming from the investment angle primarily!) I would also love to dive into the community through meetups and the like- Shooting you a message momentarily to connect!

@Daniel Anshus Fort Collins is a stellar spot! Love being able to go back and visit but excited for the new chapter in MPLS! I'm looking into the various groups in the area currently and can't wait to learn from people with direct experience in the market. See you out there!

Greetings BP community! I recently moved from Fort Collins, CO to Minneapolis, MN and am ready to take the next step towards my ideal form of financial freedom. My initial goal is to find a property to rehab+house-hack- ideally in the Minneapolis Northeast neighborhoods. Based on all that I have learned from BP content and the community I am not going into this initial foray expecting to find the perfect deal. I am far more interested in gaining experience, getting out of rental rat-race, and developing the knowledge and skills necessary for future deals and endeavors.

I am primarily interested in multi-family properties (duplexes and triplexes to start), and would love if they are near some of the amazing bike trails Minneapolis has to offer (both for the property value increase and because I love not having a car payment!) I'm an avid traveler (27 countries and counting) bicycle tourer (most recently road from Florida to California) and rock climber. My hope in diving into real-estate investing is that I can shape my life in a way that I am able to pursue these passions for more than a couple weeks a year.

I am so excited to begin this journey, and can't wait to continue learning from the wealth of knowledge contained by this community!

Greetings MPLS BP community! I recently moved to the Twin Cities and I am currently looking into Duplexes in NE Minneapolis for some version of a rehab+house hack. I've been diving into the due-diligence on the NE housing/rental market and I am starting to get a lay of the land, but I would love to hear from anyone with more experienced in this particular area on any major 'gotchas' to be on the lookout for as I'm dialing in my search.

Things like common issues with the older housing stock in the area, what inspections are absolutely necessary, and experience renting in the area would all be greatly appreciated! Replies here are great, but if you're interested I'd love to buy any experienced investors a beer/coffee and chat.

Thanks in advance!
