While Canton proper has had a negative population trends for many years, it's not like people are flocking out of the area.  Stark County has been pretty flat in growth.  Larger city schools in Ohio are generally awful which impacts the quality of life, but some of the top schools in the country/state are in surrounding townships.  Job growth is pretty flat, with a current labor shortage in many businesses.  Crime rates can greatly vary in certain parts of town, and that's where you need local input as one street over can make a big difference.  It's a solid rental area & we still have a significant housing shortage; rental performance is even better in the surrounding townships, which are better communities overall.  City of Canton is not very friendly to housing providers.  We have properties in the NW & SW areas of the city.  


 Can you expound on why the city of canton is not friendly to landlords/ home providers ?

Hello, I live in New york and I have one multi family Investment property. I purchased it at the end of the housing crisis.  I would like to invest into more properties, however New york is very expensive and the laws are not landlord friendly. What state or City should I look into that would give me great or the best returns?
