Thanks @Jay Hinrichs @Account Closed! I appreciate the quick reply. The basement does have an egress window (not sure if opening is 5.7 sqft) and the ceilings are close to 7 feet but I think they might be just shy. 

Does the current building code still apply if the home was built in the late 50’s?

Hey everyone, I'm an agent in Portland, OR and I have a buyer purchasing a home in Clackamas county, Milwaukie area, that he is hoping to rent out the basement. There is a concern about the ceiling height in the basement not being high enough given how old the home is. Anyone know what the minimum requirement is for ceiling height in this scenario as a landlord providing a habitable space for a tenant?

If you want to be an agent and don't have many connections in the area I would say join ano look for a brokerage that offers good training and tools in lead generation. Also, there always seems to be a shortage of good property managers so the more good people we can have in that industry the better. Start your own property management company!
