@Curtis Sharpe when I started I bought a Duplex. If you live in one side and rent out the other, the other side should cover the majority of your payments allowing you to save money at a way higher rate. Aka allowing you to save faster for future investments. Also, if you buy a duplex you could rent out the additional rooms on your side and effectively should be able to live for free all while everyone else would be paying off your property for you! I am new to this website, I have been listening to bigger pockets for awhile and would like to connect with people in the DFW area. I have bought one duplex and am currently 20 days away from closing on my second duplex!
