Not quite anything yet, but just starting my journey into real estate investing. Hope to meet other females in this community. šŸ„³

@Hong Chun Sim

Yeah definitely the same concerns as me. Iā€™m still in the process of looking around now. I can definitely keep you updated if I end up finding something (or not)! :)

Hey Scott!

Looks like we're in similar boats. I, too, just started my career not too long ago as a software engineer in Plano and am hoping to purchase my first property before my current apartment lease is over. If you'd like, we could connect and try to learn together! :)

Thanks for all the help everyone! If you know of an awesome real estate agent in the area that understands house hacking and is willing to help me look for available properties, Iā€™d love their contact. :)

For anyone who has advice-

Would it make more sense to look into newer homes or older homes? I know based on things I've read, when it comes to investing, it's better to buy older and fix it up, but I honestly know pretty much nothing about houses right now and mostly just want to get started.

Would it be better for a noob like me to get a newer house so I have less to worry about, get something older and try to get it fixed up, or get something older and just not fix it?

@Myka Artis Thanks! I'll definitely consider it. The idea of not having a long-term tenant also sounds good in case I decide I want to back out of renting out rooms pretty quickly.

That's awesome! I think I'd want to get into it so I can learn more about real estate. I think it could be a good idea to become an expert in something I want to invest my money in.

@Myka Artis Thanks for the information! It was actually really helpful. I'm still debating on whether or not to do Airbnb. I think the downside of Airbnbing I'm worried about is the turnover rate and the potentially long vacancy period. Any information on this?

@Andrew Postell- Yeah there's definitely way more single family homes in DFW area. I've been trying to find places with multiple floors so that I could maybe have a floor to myself, even though we will still sharing the common areas. Thought that might be a good in-between option :P

@Andy Webb I've actually never rented rooms in a house before, only rented apartment units and was wondering the same thing, but as Myka mentioned above, he says 700~900 is doable.
