What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

I wanted to get my first entry into real estate investing by house-hacking

I am a software engineer working at "big tech" and I too am not overly passionate about it. I love the idea of real estate to be able to gain weath and have passive income. To appease myself, I decided to house hack so I can still get my foot into real estate, without having to leave my current job as a software engineer. I wish to keep my W2 salary to fund my real estate deals, so that's currently where my head is at.
