@Ryan Billingsley My experience with the online through RE express was good. The class is quite a bit more difficult than the state exam, but I assume that is by design to help you pass the exam. The RE express classes work really well on iPad without any additional software or downloads. I actually decided to get my license because I was bored and needed something to do while smoking my stogies on the deck:)

ditto what Brian said...check the website or call the Real Estate Commission in Alaska...they should be able to tell you all the online schools that are approved in your state. I used realestateexpress.com for Kansas and Missouri but it looks like they are not approved in Alaska

I really think personal finance should be a part of all students' education. I always got really good grades all the way through college with a business degree. I never once learned anything about how to manage my money. When I graduated, I had nothing to show for it besides a piece of paper and a pile of debt. It took me several years to get back on track and that was after I educated my self by reading books like The Millionaire Next Door, Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Total Money Makeover. I especially think college athletes would greatly benefit from financial education. It's sad to see so many young athletes blow through millions of dollars when they make it to the big leagues. If one class was absolutely mandatory for a college freshman, it should be personal finance.

You can definitely find good folks on CL, but you just have to be very selective. Ask for references and photos of previous work. Make sure you actually check up on all their references. Make sure they have the appropriate licenses to pull necessary permits and that they are insured. When a contractor asks a homeowner to pull their own permits, this is a big red flag. It almost guarantees they are not licensed, and probably for a good reason.

I don't know about your market, but here in KC, Angie's List, BBB, and NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) are all great sources for quality GCs.

Just got the Kindle version last night and cant wait to read it. Congrats @Brandon Turner !!

has anyone else experienced problems with their iPad freezing while on the forums? My iPad always works great until I try to respond to a post and it freezes halfway through.it works fine on other websites and with my email services. I just installed the latest update. I will be lucky if I can post this, as my last 3 attempts have failed.
