Jay T from Zillow here. Let me guess... this rumor was fueled by this blog post: http://seorets.com/is-zillow-bypassing-the-listing-syndication-debate

Zillow is NOT applying for a brokerage license in Florida (or any other state). Anyone can apply for a license in any DBA name they like. But they can't use trademarked names and 15 seconds Googling the address of the applicant will tell you who applied for it, and it wasn't Zillow.
