Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm at the stage of learning the buying process, understanding what the expected returns/cashflow can be and building a network to assist at the various stages. I'm looking at moving assets from the stock market into US property as a means of generating higher and more frequent cash flow to help me towards financial independence. I'd look at a market like Denver, Dallas or Austin and a combination of cash and finance. My initial thoughts were for a property up to the $100k mark.

How have others from Australia found the buying process in the US? Did you use a buyers agent to steer clear of 'gurus'?
