Just spitballin' here, but I'm going to guess fire insurance.....?

(sorry,  couldn't resist)

Fire is always an issue here!! But its more in the regards to STR, I have som LTR and don't know if people are using different type of policies.

Thanks

Jay

Quote from @Michael Baum:

Hey @Jay Hinton, I assume the property is in the Central Business District? I believe that the current ordinance only allows STRs in the CBD so I would check first if it is allowed in your area.

Regarding insurance, check with your current insurer to see if they have any offerings and check with those that @John Underwood mentioned as well.

Its in unincorporated Mendocino county, from my research the planning department says I'm good to go with just business license.

I thinking about making my home on the Mendocino coast a STR. What insurance are people using in CA?

Thanks

Jay

Quote from @Andrew Street:

Hey Akash! I hear you—NorCal has great STR potential, but regulations can be a headache. Some markets to check out: Lake Tahoe (high demand but strict permits), Sonoma/Napa (wine tourism, tight restrictions), Gold Country (lower buy-in, seasonal demand), and Mendocino Coast (beautiful but limited STRs).

SoCal spots like Big Bear and Joshua Tree tend to be more STR-friendly. Happy to connect and chat more!

I've been looking at Mendo. It looks like you only need a business license. Am I wrong?

Thanks

Jay
