Thanks Elizabeth for the tips.  I think the problem will be managing information overload.  At this stage, I'm mostly absorbing so thanks for the pointers of what to look for.

Thanks Brandon.  I have a huge list of BiggerPockets things to do.  Podcasts are right up there.  The webinars also seem to be full of useful information, like the rest of this site.  You all have put together a really practical site and I'm glad I came across it.

Thank you for the welcome, Mike.

I hadn't read Acres of Diamonds but just did.  I'm always up for a good read like that one so thanks.  But, pertinent to your post, since it's hard to know what someone wants you to take away from a long read, I always ask for specifics to be sure I got what they wanted me to get.  What did you want me to take away from it?

Hello,

I am based in Boston and aim to be a buy and hold investor in single family homes in Texas and Arizona.  This may change as I learn more but that is the plan as of now.

I am new to this and look forward to meeting people, making friends, and learning the business.  Like taking on anything new, I think you have to put your nose to the grindstone, be dogged, absorb as much as you can, and hopefully make only minor mistakes.  That's my approach to this new adventure.

My background is in technology as well as higher education. I enjoy the optimism, energy, and wonderful career intentions of students and being at a university. I took time off recently to travel Europe slowly. I've enjoyed all of it, the small and big towns.  I have many stories and can definitely share them over a beer or two. :)
