Thank you very much Emily! Appreciate all your recommendations! And yes, I knew the idea of Miami would be way harder for a first time investor with only book experience. But just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity with the owner occupied down payment percentage, of course the Atlanta plan seems way more logical!
Thank you very much Aly! Yes, I do not let anyone influence me with negative thoughts (in any aspect of my life). Been reading a lot of books and as you say I think I'm in the right track. I think the final decision steps are the hardest ones. Been also debating between starting here in Atlanta with the rental property or head to miami and rent but with Airbnb, the only thing is that I wont be able to get the owner occupied since I need to stay here in Atlanta until I graduate from college.
Hello! I am looking into buying my first rental property. One of the many questions I have is if it better to buy a rental property first than buying your primary residence or would it be better to get your own place first and then start investing? I know I could buy duplex or townhouse (owner occupied) reside in there for a year, and then move out. Probably continue living in rental properties for a while and finally getting my own place, but not sure if somethinf like that its a good strategy Thank you!
