1.Dont think there would be any issues for you house hacking in Oregon, I've rented out a room to a friend, and sister in law and never had an issue.

2. Don't see why you would have to report house hacking to the gov.

3.As long as its your primary residence you should be fine renting rooms out

I've done 2 house hacks in Washington County Oregon and never had issues when it came to taxes

@Jacob Scarpaci you could also do a cash out refinance, and get 70-80% of equity pulled out and use that money to help with purchase of home in LA. This way you can use the money. And have someone paying off your new

The loan can be any you choose. Basically when you house hack your renting rooms out in the house you buy so it can cover partially ir completely all your house payment.

whats up man i live in oregon and have house hacked 2 properties at this point. i would keep reading more of the BP books and save money. not sure how the market is in LA but i would try and get pre approved for a loan and see what you can afford in your area. after knowing that i would forsure try and house hack a property out there. also are you cashflowing with house in oregon? if you are i think you would be able to add that to your income when getting pre approved for loan. if its not cashflowing i would sell and use that for a downpayment on house in LA. good luck man

Hey guys i am about to put my 1st flip on the market for sale. After it has sold i am hoping to purchase my 1st 4plex/quadplex, or BRRRR a single family home. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. looking to connect with investors, flippers, wholesalers or anyone that can help guide me in the right direction.! I am located 20 Mins from Portland Oregon so if you are local hit me up! if not i would still appreciate any tips or advice!

Investment Info:

Purchase price: $290,000
Cash invested: $58,000

Purchased this house as first real 'flip'/'project'. Did floor, sub floor, plumbing repairs so that i could move into house and house hack for 2 years. Now that the 2 years have passed I'm going around and doing last touch ups around house about to put up for sale.
