Hello All!

I'm very excited to announce that I am in the process of purchasing my first two single-family homes to begin my real estate career. I am purchasing these properties with another local investor where we formed a LLC. I have done some research and I have seen many different views on how you should tax your income. Would the best (tax efficient and easiest to do) way to file my taxes is add the income from my LLC to my 1040 Schedule E or should we file as a C-Corp or other entity? I am a beginner to this industry to any advice from other professionals or others who have had personal experience in this issue, the help would be appreciated.

Stay great and get ready to rock 2017!

@Jim Kennedy That's a very interesting topic you point out regarding using legal advice as you go from deal to deal. I really appreciate all of your help, such a great network of people on BiggerPockets!

Morning All!

I'm excited to say that I have taken the first steps to purchase my first rental property with another investor in my area. We are purchasing two rental homes in the area under a LLC. Has anyone personally had to form a buy or sell agreement or do you usually want an attorney to do this? I understand the point of this agreement, but not sure how we would split assets or what our portion of the LLC would be worth if someone wants to sell their portion of the business. Also, is it necessary to have an Operating Agreement with only two people in the LLC?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks for replying so quickly! I didn't have intentions to ask for a mentor, just truly looking to work in the industry to gain experience that I don't have yet! I can read and learn for years, but until I put it into actual action it will mean nothing. That's what I'm looking for, someone who I can help and put my knowledge into action! Thanks for the help and guiding me!

Hello Real Estate Moguls!

I'm so excited to join BiggerPockets and begin my real estate investing career. The only previous experience I have is helping my grandparents buy/renovate/sell a couple properties during high school.  With so many avenues to pursue in real estate, does anyone have advice of which to start with? Flipping houses? Duplex rentals? Any other ideas?

I have one and a half years left in school and am determined to own a piece of property before I get my diploma; lets make that happen!

Thanks again for being able to connect with everyone in this community; great appreciation goes out to you all.

Best regards,

Jason Meyers

Hello everyone!

I have just recently joined BiggerPockets and cannot be happier to be connected to such a vast amount of real estate investors. I'm currently a junior in college and looking to get a hands on experience in the real estate industry. Quiet frankly, I have very little experience, besides helping to buy/renovate/sell with a couple of houses during high school with my grandparents; but eager to learn more! I am willing to help anyone in my area (Janesville/Milwaukee, WI area) to help with any projects they have, for free! I just want the experience! If this interests anyone or know of anyone who may be interested, please help me connect with them.

Glad to be apart of this community!

Best,

Jason Meyers

Hello All!

I'm currently a junior in college looking to begin learning and investing in real estate. I have had some experience working with real estate during high school where I would help my grandparents buy and flip properties. With a year and a half left of school, I'm trying to decide if buying real estate now is a good idea or if I should wait until I graduate and move to where I will be employed; what do you think? I'm open to opinions and any information that will help me grow!

Thanks everyone!
