Very cool thanks for the replies guys. I don’t know enough operationally how things work but it seemed daunting to hear and I do know they are building a ton so it made sense. Thanks for the information

i have heard that the base is taking up a lot of new land and developing a ton of new housing (in the thousands) in order to keep the military families living on base opposed to off base. I have heard it will be mandatory as well. granted this is all speculative and potential rumor mill, but wondering if anyone has heard anything about this?

i have been considering Jacksonville a great place to invest but i feel like that would really turn the market upside down if that does in fact end up happening.

very interesting thanks for the info! i guess i assumed wilmington would be a hot spot, all i ever hear is how much people like it and want to move there so that indicator was always around..

thanks for both replies guys!

anyone have experience on the coast? from new bern all the way south to myrtle beach? im moving back to the jacksonville/wilmington area and trying to get a feel for the layout.

@Jason Maddox I am from Jacksonville, where the Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base is.  I'm considering the area heavily to invest because of its 50k+ Marines and Sailors in the area.  How about you?

Jacksonville/Wilmington. i grew up in jacksonville, lived in wilmington for 12 years or so now i live in NYC. ill be returning to the area in about 18 months though.

@Jason Maddox that’s awesome. BP is great for networking just like you’re already doing. Great job putting yourself out there and connecting with other like minding people. That’s so important. Your circle of influence will shape who you become. Best wishes and if you make it to Charlotte sometime, hit me up.

thanks and will do! i generally get to Charlotte a couple of times a year.

Welcome Jason! As a fellow new member from the coast of NC. I hope at some point, we can bounce ideas off each other.

awesome, what part of NC are you from?

hello friends!

new investor Jason here. heres a probably too long intro....

currently i am in NYC for 18 months then i will return home to the coast of North Carolina where i plan on purchasing single family homes and some du/tri/quadplexes BRRRR style in hopes of building a great future for my family! i love my day to day job so im fortunate to want to keep that as well as the income it provides but also know that has a ceiling.

im pretty new in the real estate world, i would say about 3 weeks now.. i got click baited into a video on wholesaling which i thought was interesting but also suspect, but that drove me into more real estate videos which lead me to bigger pockets and so on....  since i got hooked i have purchased about 15 books, read about 6, listened to probably 30 BP podcast, a few Coach Carson's and a couple others. i am kind of feeling like i am reading and hearing the same info over and over which tells me its time to take action!

i have also attended 2 real estate meet ups. my take aways from that was that i'm terrible at meeting new people, and i was not pleased with my ability to network and make new friends. so my next real estate meet up, more so than gain real estate knowledge will be to talk to at least 10 people! i'm not generally so shy, but feeling so inexperienced with not much to offer i kind of clamed up. anyhow...

i have talked to two different real estate agents back in NC on the phone with hopes of meeting them in person in a few weeks to get the ball rolling... and while i'm nervous and apprehensive to make a purchase.. i feel like i'm not ready, i guess i wont know until i try. i still feel kind of lost on what i should be doing right now... theres so many pieces of the puzzle that its easier to just read another book than figure out how to estimate rehab cost, or how to analyze a property etc....

pumped to be apart of this community and hopefully meet some people!

Nevermind I see the address posted now. See you there!
