Uber is not my employer though. I am a self-contractor.

My wife and I are moving from Chicago to Michigan to buy a house. My wife will keep the same job, and I will continue driving with Uber. When going through the preapproval process one of the lenders I spoke with said that he isn't sure if they can use my income from Illinois for a mortgage in Michigan. It's a bilateral move, but they aren't sure if the banks will need 3-6 months of working in Michigan or they might possibly can use my income. We are looking for a 350-450k house and have approximately 200k cash. Our combined income is 80k. We have a perfect application. Zero debt and almost 800 credit score, this is just the only snag we are running into. Has anybody worked with this situation previously and can provide some advice?
