Way to hustle John!
Hey Hilary Catton Thanks for taking the time to pick our brains for possible improvement ideas. I am relatively new to BP, but there is one thing I think would improve functionality. When a user clicks reply to a forum post, it opens in a new empty screen. Would it be possible to show the thread as the user responds(similar to responding to a gmail message for example) so they can easily refer back to the previous posts while writing a response? Thanks for your help!

Hey Kristi Tenrreiro Thanks for sharing! I will definitely look into Investor Underground Austin on FB. Have you been to the Tuesday meetups at the Flying Saucer? I had the opportunity to go this week and met some very knowledgeable and friendly folks. http://www.meetup.com/Austin-Apartment-Investing-Meetup/

@Mike Austin it sounds like you and I are in the same boat as far as experience. The BP community has been a great place to learn about this business. Same to you!

@Christine Newton Thanks for the response! I will be there tomorrow and look forward to possibly meeting you and your husband.

I have read/heard that multi-family is the way to go with regards to cash flow. Agreed as far as banking on appreciation. That can be pretty risky.

The method regarding buying with hard money, rehabbing, then refinancing to pull out money for the next property seems like an appealing strategy also. It is exciting to learn about all of the different approaches!

Thanks @Ethan Kanning for sharing your advice! I look forward to meeting more folks just like yourself within this community.

@Christine Newton  Thanks for your input! It sounds like you are having success with multi-family properties. What are the best benefits for multi-family vs single family units in your opinion? Someone mentioned a meetup happening soon here http://www.meetup.com/Austin-Apartment-Investing-M...

@Casey Rue Thanks for your input and for offering to help! I am relatively new at BP and it is a bit overwhelming. These forums have some great info. I am amazed by the initial response from folks.

Hey all, I'm new to the real estate investing game and welcome any advice. My disposition is to invest for passive income, but am open to other options. I am based in Austin, TX right now and the market is a bit inflamed so I'm considering surrounding areas such as Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, etc. Am I wrong in assuming this? My main goal is to get started. The Buy, Rent, Refinance, Repeat or BRRRR method seems like a good way to get the ball rolling. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Best, Jason
