You do not want to miss this month's speaker, Leka Devatha! Leka is a real estate developer and broker based in Seattle, WA. She moved to the US from India 14 years ago. In 2014, Leka left a corporate strategy role at Nordstrom to start Rehabit Homes, Inc. a company focused on residential redevelopment. She has since spearheaded hundreds of transactions, developing over $50M in real estate. Now she is beginning to invest in multifamily and will share her experience with us and what it's like making the transition from single family to multifamily investing.

@Angel Meraz I would suggest networking with more Brokers in your area. Maybe make some offers and tour on some of their properties that are listed to show them that you are a serious buyer. Good place to start is loop net find out who the players are and as always the big name Brokers.

@Grace McDonough Happens to the best of us. As previously mentioned i would suggest House Hacking and or partnering with an investor in your area. Both in my opinion can limit your downside risk.

I am currently on the house hacking journey as well in. I would recommend joining COREE and networking with individuals in that group to find wholesalers, agents, contractors, etc. I was able to find my house hack duplex in Columbus through a wholesaler. Since the market has been pretty hot here I was able to get a really good deal and there was no competition. A lot of the real estate investing meet ups have been online since the pandemic so maybe you could convince your significant other to hop on a zoom call with you and get them exposed to real estate investing that way.

I would recommend connecting with Lenders via the local RIA there in Tallahassee or any other investment groups you can find on BP, Meetup.com, and Facebook groups.
