You do not want to miss this month's speaker, Leka Devatha! Leka is a real estate developer and broker based in Seattle, WA. She moved to the US from India 14 years ago. In 2014, Leka left a corporate strategy role at Nordstrom to start Rehabit Homes, Inc. a company focused on residential redevelopment. She has since spearheaded hundreds of transactions, developing over $50M in real estate. Now she is beginning to invest in multifamily and will share her experience with us and what it's like making the transition from single family to multifamily investing.

Leka has been featured on numerous podcasts and other media including Business Insider and BiggerPockets. She was also a chapter contributor in the newly published book 'The Only Women in The Room'. In an effort to give back to the community, she hosts a popular virtual networking mixer, 'Real Estate At Work' featuring prominent speakers from the industry.

This month we get the privilege of having Lee Yoder of Threefold Real Estate Investing.

Lee was practicing as a physical therapist when he realized his true passion was building his own business and investing in real estate. He has taken this passion and considerable action to quickly build a portfolio with several small apartment buildings. Lee is the founder and visionary behind Threefold Real Estate Investing, and he’s committed to forging a path that will generate incredible wealth and opportunity for all involved. His focus is driving the business forward by forging new relationships with top-notch professionals in the real estate world and bringing on more partners to invest alongside Threefold. Lee also hosts an exciting new podcast, Threefold Real Estate Investing, which focuses on multifamily real estate investing while also focusing on pursing better relationships with family and a better walk with Christ.

@Angel Meraz I would suggest networking with more Brokers in your area. Maybe make some offers and tour on some of their properties that are listed to show them that you are a serious buyer. Good place to start is loop net find out who the players are and as always the big name Brokers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

@Grace McDonough Happens to the best of us. As previously mentioned i would suggest House Hacking and or partnering with an investor in your area. Both in my opinion can limit your downside risk.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hey @Emily Weglage,

I am currently on the house hacking journey as well in. I would recommend joining COREE and networking with individuals in that group to find wholesalers, agents, contractors, etc. I was able to find my house hack duplex in Columbus through a wholesaler. Since the market has been pretty hot here I was able to get a really good deal and there was no competition. A lot of the real estate investing meet ups have been online since the pandemic so maybe you could convince your significant other to hop on a zoom call with you and get them exposed to real estate investing that way.

Hope this helps!

Hey @David Parathundil, Congrats on saving $20k that is a huge accomplishment!
I would recommend connecting with Lenders via the local RIA there in Tallahassee or any other investment groups you can find on BP, Meetup.com, and Facebook groups.
