@Benjamin Eccles Thanks for the welcome! Since we both are college students just starting out we should try to stay connected and share what we have learned so we may both better our REI careers.

@Brett Snodgrass Thanks for the welcome Brett!

@Corina Eufinger Thanks for the welcome!  Which books (or all of them) should I read that would benefit me with investing/investing mindset?

Well for starters, my name is Jared, I'm from just outside Green Bay, Wisconsin.  I became interested in real estate after reading the ever so popular Rich Dad, Poor Dad.  I realized that after going through several years of college that I don't want to be spending the majority of my life working for someone.  Currently I am going to college in Platteville, Wisconsin.  I am majoring in Manufacturing Technology Management with a minor in Agricultural and Industrial Engineering Technology.  Starting in September 2016 I will be beginning my senior year and hopefully will be graduating in May 2017.

Right now I am hoping to learn as much as I possibly can about investing in real estate so that once I graduate I will be able to start investing.  I do have a rough idea of how I would like things to turn out, and whether or not it is reasonable I won't really know until I further my understanding of investments.

My goals are lofty to say the least but I believe that it is possible to achieve them even thought my parents and everyone else says they are just not going to happen.  For starters, I would like to be able to live off of the income from rental properties 2-3 years after making my first deal.  With in 5-7 years I would like to be able to financially stable, that is to say that at this point I can cover all living expenses as well as be able to be able to purchase a car, or new appliances, or cover medical bills, all without having to worry about if I'll enough money to eat that week.  The last part of my plan is to be able to retire/purchase my dream property, however my dream property is a farm and that can get pretty pricey.  Like I said before, since I am new to all of this I have no idea how feasible this will even be, but that is why I am here.

Just a little bit about myself.  Like I said, I am a senior in college hopefully graduating in May.  My current hobbies include paintball, auto and tractor restoration, farming and just making things in the shop.  I am a very hands on person.  A few summers ago now My dad and I built the new shop we have now which is quite a feat.

I'm hoping once i finish college to move back home to the Green Bay area where I will start investing and maybe at some point I will be investing all over Wisconsin.  I do plan on getting a 9-5 job after graduating which will support my living expenses for the time being.

Well, that was kind of scatter brained but I think I was able to introduce myself in a somewhat organized way.  If I did confuse someone feel free to ask me to clarify!
