Hello!

need a little help please. I have a mix use building in CT. the ground floor tenant is a bar/restaurant that recently moved in.

they got a $2M General liability insurance and is asking if that's enough. or if they should get an umbrella. the property is valued at around $700k, fyi.

where can i read up on best practices for such a case? or does anyone have experience?

thank you

J

thank you @Ceasar Rosas and @Llewelyn Adal.

I just joing biggerpockets with the hope of learning more about this exact topic in NYC. I have spent the past 10 years moving from neighborhood to neighborhood in NY as the rents keep hire and hire. I hope to be able to get into a duplex or similar using FHA to ideally "live free" but understand that i may be in a tough market to live completely without expenses. i dont even dare dream about cashflow at the moment.

moving from greenpoint to LIC to Astoria and now Pelham Bronx. I am looking in the bronx as my possible first step. Any advice you guys have to help out this newbie would be so welcome. i understand I can learn quite a lot by "simply" searching this forum. but please understand even that may seem not so simple to someone so new as to lack any sense of where to look first.

What do you recommend as the best/fastest approach to learning more about this and the bronx market to be?
