Post: Private Texas lending?

So here's a quick run down of my situation. I have an investment property that my wife and I purchased a few months ago and already have it leased. We paid cash. Another opportunity came up in the same neighborhood and we would like to put in an offer. However, I'm having trouble getting a cash out refi on my current rental. I spoke with a lender the other day that recommended I use a commercial lender or a private lender. I am just curious if anyone can point me in the direction of a private lending company that may be interested in funding my new purchase. I was told I may need to use both houses as collateral which I wouldn't be opposed to. Just need some advice.

So I posted a few days ago about a dilemma that my wife and I were in. We inherited her dads house and decided to sell. We decided it because we wanted to cut emotional ties so we could move forward. We have received some criticism about doing so because it's paid for and most think we should rent it out.

I appreciate everyone's input. At this point we will sell this property and go from there. Even if it could become a great supplemental income, that's fine with us. We have been working on our budget and already see the costs adding up but I believe I can offset some of it with the work I can do myself. Another question though, and I'm sure it's been covered already... What about listing for sale by owner as opposed to using an agent, my thoughts are that there has got to be a way to save those thousands. Is there a way to get my listing on mls without an agent? Any thoughts?

I've been reading around and am really glad I found this site. A lot of good posts, I feel very confident in our decision. What about investing time? My wife thinks once we sell this one I should quit my job to make it full time. Any suggestions on that?

that is our thought exactly. Thanks. We have read many opinions on flipping and most say it's too risky but they always mention having to get a loan.

Ok so I am new here, I just came across this site today and need some advice. My wife and I recently inherited a home that is paid for and we at first considered renting but do not feel like that's for us. We are considering selling and getting into flipping houses since it has literally been her dream for years. I feel it would be good because I am very handy, have real estate connections in the family and would be able to go into it all cash so we would never owe any banks. I am just wanting to know if selling to do this would be wise. Thanks
