Hi @Ashley Kehr . The rural lands we're interested in are in the southtowns. I'm from the Colden area and my family has some land there, so we would want to be fairly close to there. We're planning to get started with buy and hold multifamilies in and around Buffalo and adding some rural interests once we have some more experience and a stable income source from our initial properties.

I'm glad to find someone with similar interests and right in my backyard!

Do you have any tips for getting started in the Buffalo area and/or rural investing?

My name is Jake from Buffalo, NY. I'm just getting started in real estate, planning on focusing on buy and hold with multifamily properties, and possibly moving into rural investing (farms, raw land, etc).

I'm currently in the phase of learning, acquiring capital, and building a solid business plan.

I enjoy analytics and finance. I also enjoy the outdoors and hope to become a farmer once I reach my freedom number.

I think BiggerPockets is a great resource and look forward to being an active member while learning and networking.

I'm looking at a property in the Hudson Valley region, specifically Kingston, NY, and need to get a home inspection. Does anyone have any home inspector recommendations?
