@Dave DeMarinis I should re-word, she is 100% supportive she is just one of those nervous types who is afraid to put so much into something but once she realizes the potential outcome and once we figure out if I’m staying in or getting out of the navy she will be on board. We will also be able to use some additional income as well next year once she finishes her nursing degree. I’m just so ready to jump in now it’s difficult to want to wait especially when you see a good deal come and go in a couple days.

@Austin Steed I've been told it's difficult to land a multi family with a VA loan? Are your properties single family??

I have upwards of 150-180k in equity from my personal home I would like to use to invest in my first multi family but low cash on hand, HELP! I want to use it but am having a hard time getting full support from spouse and family due to my possible military separation/ and the unknown... I am located in Columbus Ohio but am looking more in the Dayton area due to more family being down there. What are my options here? Should I leverage against or use a heloc for cash down and conventional financing?! Any advice would be wonderful.

Hey there! My name is Jake Newman, as you can see in my bio I am looking for my first deal in the Columbus market or surrounding areas. Also looking for a mentor to assist and willing to offer my hard work ethic and leadership skills I Have learned from my 6 and half years in the navy thus far. I do plan to retire from my current profession but want to create a real estate business and run it as well. I have listened to nearly all of the BP podcasts and continue to learn and grow by currently taking the Ohio real estate courses looking to obtain my Real Estate License to sell homes in Columbus. My plan is to take the test in January after finishing courses in December! If anyone at all is willing to assist or offer mentorship please let me know! Looking forward to meeting many other members and sitting down with some of you!

Hello everyone, looking at purchasing my first Deal, it is a multi family duplex with the ability to raise rent, the only thing I can't seem to figure out is: The property currently has a property management company taking care of it, if I were to purchase, would I have to keep that property management company in the purchase agreement or would that all be settled during the purchase? Thank you for the advice.

All,

Thank you for your generous replies! They mean a lot to a new member, I plan to attend the meet up, and also thank you @Robert Ellis for your encouraging words. I figure if I can land one deal with 20 I can easily achieve my goal of 4 properties In the next three years.
