Hello all my fellow BPers! I have a question not really pertaining to Real Estate specifically. I know everyone on BP reads! My question is I'm currently struggling to read one book at a time. How many BPers read multiple books at once and is it the same outcome with retention? Would anyone suggest reading multiple books, or staying with one at a time?
I agree with everyone on BP. We all thank you for your time dedicated to all of us, and real estate!!

Also piggybacking off @TaylorCorder* there was a new arena that was built within the last few months and that drove employment through the roof. Also the increase of the minimum wage to $15.00/hr by 2022 (about $.50 a year) is bringing more and more workers here. I'm no expert either, I just happen to listen to what renters say at our apartment communities.

*Sorry for the link my BP doesn't seem to be registering names.

I realized I didn't do this when I created my account, so here it is!

I have been in apartment management since 2015, and love every second of it!

I am currently a Leasing Consultant for a large owner managed apartment company with 1000+ units. I started as a Property Manager for a medium sized Apartment Community in Chico, CA, with a company that has more than 30 years of experience under its belt.

I'm Looking to expand my knowledge of Property Management and to grow into investing in Real Estate, with Buy and Hold as my desired means to financial freedom.

Hey

@Richard Warner

@Austin Youmans,

Sorry for the SUPER late reply, and thank you so much for that useful information!

I would mainly be using my license to buy property for myself and cut out the buyer agent. Maybe if i can get a few sales here and there. I want to be able to use the commission as a down payment.

Is the commute to Portland as terrible as I have heard?

How is the job market for property management in Vancouver?

Wow, Thanks guys for the help! @Lance Hulsey you were a huge help! have you ever thought about moving to WA?

And thank you @Austin Youmans, so it would be smart to have a double license for both states? Is that a thing? Also I see you're from Vancouver, how is the housing market? In CA the price of a two bedroom one bath apartment ranges from $1200 to $1700 (area, of course). Do you know any good starter brokerages?

Sorry for all the random questions. I'm just thinking of moving and not sure who to go to with questions. So thanks in advance you guys have all ready been a HUGE help!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes.

So I'm originally from Cali, but as of late my family has been talking about moving to WA, specifically around Vancouver. My question is if I wanted to get my RE license would I be able to get my WA license while living in CA? Do I have to be a resident in WA to get my RE license? I've seen some RE courses and it's not to bad a price. Also I know you have to hang your license under a broker, or broker manager in WA.

Does anyone have any insight into a good, cheap broker to hang my license? What is the best way to go about this?

I plan on holding off on investing until I know I'm moving to WA, and just saving. I'm looking into finding a house for my family, and a duplex/triplex/quadplex to manage/live in.

P.S. This is a 2 year plan and not one hundred percent set in motion yet.

Thanks for any feedback!!!
